This is a shot of a big, old bull in Ngorongoro Crater who was covered in mud.  I also included a black and white photo of the same lioness as the one below.

The day was coming to a close, and we still had not seen a lion.  We were about a mile from the exit road, when this beautiful lioness hopped up on a log.

We saw quite a few elephants and more cape buffalo than we could count.  I hope you like the black and white conversion on the elephant.  I am trying it out.

We had our volunteer team from First Baptist Church come in, and they were extremely kind to take us on a safari to Ngorongoro Crater.  I also got to try out my new camera.  I will be posting more photos in the days to come.  Here is one of a cheetah that was very far away.  The printed out file actually shows a lot of detail.

We took a couple of days before Language School started and went to the Usambara Mountains.  We stayed two nights in an old colonial lodge in a town called Lushoto.  Here are a couple of pictures that I took from a viewpoint that overlooks the Maasai Steppe…

Here’s a picture of our dog, Duma.  Duma, in Swahili, means cheetah.  He is a belgian malinois.

As you can see, we had a lot of fun at the Tulsa Zoo last week.

I took the boys to an Arkansas Traveler’s baseball game last night.  We had a great time!  It was hot.  We had some hotdogs and cotton candy.  What more could boys want?!

We went to the Little Rock Zoo again today.  We only stayed a couple of hours because it was so hot, but we saw some animals.
